Three essential substances

Chocolate, tea and coffee. The things I'm going to show you all revolve around these three. It's a present I made for a friend from book forums, who studies chemistry. It was for her birthday in December, but we couldn't meet, so I added some other things to the bag.
First is a calendar.. and I so love how it turned. On every page it has a tea bag with a different kind of tea, according to the zodiac sign (the bag opens from the bottom and so the tea can be used wthout unglueing the zodiac picture), a one month callendar pad and a tag saying "Janyary books", "February books" and so on. On the back of every pade there are few memo sheets with bunnies, that are supposed to serve as a mini book diary - just to mark the titles and eventually the dates. The calendar turned a little bulky at the one side, but after all the tea is drank, it will be just right. All the pages are tied with a ribbon, that can be adjusted.

First I thought of making it just with different kinds of tea but the fact I saw this astral tea at the shop moved everything to a whole new level :) I really love how it turned, even of not all the tags correspond as well to the pages as I would want it.

Шоколад, кафе и чай. Предметите, които ще ви покажа в този пост се въртят все около тези три вещества, без които не можем. СТава дума за подарък за книжна съфорумка, която учи химия. Трябваше да и го дам на рождение и ден през декември, но не можахме да си видим, и аз продължих да добавям разни неща.
Най-напред книжно чаеният календар. Идеята за такова нещо се породи в мен от предизвикателството Чай и книги на The book garden и фактът, че в магазина случайно попаднах на този зодиакален чай определено помогна идеята да се дооформи. На всяка страничка има календарче за месеца, пакетче чай с различен вкус, съответстващ на зодията (пакетчетата се отварят отдолу, така че чаят може да се извади без картинката да се отлепя. Може да се остане като украса дори и след като чаят си е отдавна изпит) и малко тагче, на което пише "Януарски книги", "Мартенски.." и т.н. . А на гърба на страничката има няколко листчета , които да служат като мини читателско дневниче - само да си отбелязваш заглавието, автора и датата. Въпреки че не всички тагчета се връзват идеално със страниците, много ми хареса как се получи календара. Малко е бухнал от едната страна, където е струпан всичкия чай, но след като се махнат пакетчетата, ще слегне и ще стане тъкмо. Страниците са вързани с панделка, така че ще може да се регулира при нужда.

All of it was done while waiting pages to load. Poor old PC is trying his best but I can't wait for my little laptop to come back home fixed. Needless to say, I've been progressing every time I wait for a picture to upload in this post here now, lol! This reminds me of my Knitting for dummies book. In the first chapter they explain that knitting is the perfect hobby for waiting - for the traffic lights to change (WTF? bad idea!) or while waiting for a page to load (this one is confirmed! Stitching works too!)

Който е видял състоянието на градинския проект от тази сутрин ,може да го сравни с настоящото - и целият този напредък е постигнат докато една или друга страница в интернет зарежда. Напомня ми на първата глава от книгата Плетене for dummies, където обясняват как това е перфектното хоби, когато трябва да чакаш - например светофарът да се смени (ъ? лоша идея, ако питате мен!) или докато чакаш страница да се зареди (това вече е лично потвърдено. )

Second in this post comes my yesterday project that kept me from stitching. My mom asked me to make something for a bday she was going to. the present was a SPA card, and so I made an embelished envelope for it. The photos are bad because they were taken in hurry, the colours are quite brighter. When you pull the pink ribbon, the cvoucher card comes out.

 Ето го и проектът, за който разказвах, че зае голяма част от вчерашната ми вечер. Писах се доброволка да направя картичка/опаковка за ваучера за СПА , който майка и приятели щяха да подаряват. За моя изненада се наложи да е по-голяма, отколкото очаквах и нормално правя, та се наложи да вкарам мислене как да украся. иначе е картичка - вътре пликче, а щом дръпнеш розовата панделка, изскача картата ваучер. Тъй като снимките бяха правени много набързо, не са особено хубави, цветовете всъщност са по ярки. Ммм, розово и кафяво. Една от любиите ми комбинации.

And last, this weekend there is a mini Bloggiesta!
Bloggiesta   is an event that is all about pumping out your little blog place. In the mini bloggiesta, one of the hostesses is Tif   and her challenge is to clean up those side lines! Mine sure need some cleaning! I was about to work on the look of both of my blogs, so I guess I'm just lucky Bloggiesta is the same weekend, lol!

И накрая, този уикенд се провежда Блогиеста. Целта и е да вдъхнови хората да си поразчистят и постегнат малко блогчетата. Едно от мини предизвикателствата този път е хоствано от Тиф и засяга страничните ленти - при мен там определено има нужда от чистка! Аз така или иначе щях да се занимавам с външния вид и на двата си блога тази седмица, та изглежда просто съм извадила късмет, че съвпада с Блогиестата :D

Merry Christmas and vaguely Christmas realted craft

Hello there to all of you! I guess you're all in the middle of a celebration, and here I am, finally finding some time to actually blog!
Uni did good at keeping me busy all these months, and that last week I was all

 

But apart of my brain refusing to work, I actually did some crafting (with little thinking). Sadly - not cross stitcnng. The famous sheep that I just ahd to finish, because there was no way I'm leaving it for yet another year, and another little something I will show you soon - that was all the cross stitching for the last few months. But I did some card making, or rather - callendar making. I wanted to make a lot of presents and figured this would be a nice and rather fast present. So here I present you the first set of scrapbooked callendars! The twin kitties are my fav so far :D

Сигурно по това време сте в разгара на празнуването на Бъдни вечер, а аз реших да седна и да напиша едно блогче.

През последните месеци почти не ми беше останало време за нещо от графата "ръчен труд и техника", а колкото до бродирането - мога да се отчета само с овцата от предишния пост и още едно-две нещица, които ще постна в скоро време. Затова пък наблегнах на картичкоправенето. Или по-точно - календаро-правенето. Много умувах какво да измисля, че хем да успея да направя достатъчно като бройки, хем всяка по своему да е индивидуална . И най-накрая измислих - календарчета за 2013! :D Всяка картичка от горните си е съвсем функционално настолно календарче с всичките месеци :D И това май е само първата партида, защото ми остават още подаръци за правене ^_^

Yeah, I know, I know *hiding behind a wall of shame* I've been a terrible blogger, I admit it. And not just that - but also a terrible commenter and a horrible stitcher as well >.> Not only I 've been missing all the stuff going on in the bolgging world for the past months, I also haven't stutched since... mm well since the last time I posted something here. Ah, the shame, the shame..
As usual, I blame being busy for it all. And being lazy. Yup, def being lazy. We've really been quite busy at Uni since the start of the year, but things are now waaaay more interesting since the previous two years of study, so I can't really complain about that.

Anyway, on the crafty side.. since I really hate posting without a piccu of something, or at least a book read= The good news! I've made 3 bday cards since the start of the school year. the bad news - I took a pic of only one..

I've been reading more than crafting, since it's quite easier to carry a book around and read a couple or pages or so, than move with you all the stitchy supplies. But Christmas and new Year are coming and I'm hoping to get some work done. Also, I need to sit ap and write some excuse for a book review, because I basically finished some challenges and If I simply don't make it with reviews... well, I'll be really, really mad at myself >.>

This is all for now. Sorry for not being active and not checking your place often enough. I'll try and make up for it!

Scrapbook giveaway!

Oh, lol, did you see it coming? So I was contacted by the My memories Suite scrapboobing site and kindly asked to host a giveaway with a piece of the software as a prize!
I know that such giveaways has showed up on quite a few blogs, but if you weren't lucky enough to win a copy, then you have one more chance!

I, myself, didn't enter all of those giveaways, because I always thought that digital scrapbooking wasn't my thing. Cause, you know, I'm more touchy-feely when it comes to crafts.  Digital scrapbooking is pretty, but misses the scissors fun, the glue, the occasional burn from a hot glue gun (okay, maybe I don't miss that) and that overall 3d effect. But in the mail I received there were some piccs of awesome crafts made with this scrapbooking software. Fully 3D. Touchy feely approved.

So I got to work I found this really really cute winter kit with a polar bear, and I knew I'll be working with it. First I used the scrapbooking software to "build a model" of how I want my card to be - because I wanted it to be a card. Then I decided I want to try myself making a 3d decoupage element, so I multiplied the polar bear 3 times. And after that - the tag! The sentiment came to my mind and I thought it's really cute, besides I'm dying from heat here.
So here is my snowy, giving cooling hugs to you all:

Along with my inspiration, lol! It's a very simple card, as I made it before the workshop, but I still think it's adorable.
 I was actually quite surprised how compatible this My memories suite software is. All of the fonts I have on my laptop got integrated without me having to add them by hand. And even if here I used only elements of the program, it's good to know I can add in every other kit. I can also use cyrillic, and I'm so happy for this. I was expecting it to roar in displeasure and shut off when I switch alphabets. Digital or in the form of stamps, sentiments in Bulgarian are hard to find. The super fancy fonts didn't show in, but all the common Word fonts can be used in the program.

Btw, for this project, I nicknamed the bear Icecream Bubbleworth. He pretends it's ISream though.

I DID actually try my hand at digital scrapboking too. It seemed kinda wrong not to. I first used the option where you pick a bunch of photos and let the program arrange them. It chose for Darth Vader the sentiment "Never forget" which I found hilarious. I didn't save it this firt time so later I decided ti ty and recreate the Vader awesomeness

For 5 mins of work, not that bad.

So in a word, if you decide to keep it digital with the My memories, then it's fast and easy to work (navigation through layers is very easy btw, so you won't have to worry you forgotten to add something on the bottom layer). If you decide to bring the pictures to real life, then know that the quality is very good and they look great printed

Здравейте :) Както виждате, аз още съм на вълна картички, и тя сигурно ще продължи още известно време, защото едно, че имам материали за оползотворяване, две, че шия нещо, което още не е за показване, и три,  че сега през лятото докато имам време искам да направя картички за различни случаи през зимата.
 Притокът на материали от една страна се дължи на факта, че от сайта My memories Suitе    ми писаха и ме помолиха да направя блог кенди за софтуера им за скрапбукинг и картички. Програмката е много весела, а на сайта си имат и много фрийбита с хартийки и елементи, които могат да се ползват с или без програмата и само чакат да минат през принтера и да се превърнат в картички или каквото произведение от хартия ви хрумне.
Аз веднага си харесах от програмата едно зимно комплектче с бяла мечка, и по пътя си до българския вариант на поста сигурно вече сте видели резултата, заедно с източника ми на вдъхновение. Всички хартиени елементи изкарах от програмата, като мечето в няколко екземпляра, за да се пробвам да направя 3Д декупаж. Като за първи опит, мисля, че стана добре.

Програмата става и за дигитален скрапбукинг, всъщност за това си е направена, и в тази насока има много опции, които още се нуждаят от разследване. Аз досега съм направила само няколко опита в тази насока, и най-представителният резултат е намерил място горе. Разходка с Дарт Вейдър в мола. Е, добре де, той не мърдаше много.
В софтуера може да се вкарват и всякакви елементи от други скрапбукинг комплекти, без значение дали са на тази фирма.. Също така е възприемчив и към различните шрифтове, които имам на компютъра. Автоматично вкара всички извъртяни английски шрифтове, българските не, но въпреки това позволява да се пише и на български, със стандартните Уърд фонтове. Което е добре, защото трудно се намират печатчета с пожелания на български и е хубаво човек да може да си ги прави сам.

Results after Hobissima card workshop!

As I mentioned in the last post, on Saturday I went on a card making worshop, that was tons of fun, had cookies and craft and nice ladies and I learnt tons of new things - what is there more to want!
The event was hosted by Hobissimo (the site is HobissimO and the shop is HobissimA, so thing are a lil complicated for simple minds like mine XD)


Здавейте :) Както споменах в предния пост, в събота отидох на работилничка за картички, приготвена от Хобисимо (сайтът е ХобисимО, магазинът е ХобисимА, така че е малко сложничко за мозъчета като моя XD) В работилничката беше страшно весело, с много бисквитки, готини хора, и много нови неща за научаване - какво повече да иска човек!

I was a newbie in a group where almost everyone new eachother, but they were all very kind . They showed us hoe to make 3 different kinds of cards and folds and the first one was the Waterfall card  where you pull the bottom and the little panels move up

Всички бяха страшно готини и мили в работилничката, въпреки че бях нова в групичка, където всички се познаваха ^^
Показаха ни как да правим три различни вида картички, като първата беше Водопадът - като дръпнеш езичето долу и панелчетата се придвижват. Ефектът е страхотен и си е голяма занимавка да го мърдаш насам натам :D
The next cart was folded in a origami like way, and is my favourite, it's very easy to make, but still very impressive=

Следващата картичка беше със сгъвка като от оригами, и си ми е любима. Първо тази тук конкретно, защото много ми хареса как успях да я украся, и самият модел като цяло, защото е доста лесен, и въпреки това много ефектен.

For the last card we didn't have much time, and it was the most difficult of them all, but I somehow made it! I would really like to redo it though, and cut again the front of the card, to clean yp and line the panels. The inside is ok.

Последната картичка беше най-сложна, пък и нямаше много време за нея накрая, но някакси успях да се преборя със сгъвките. Отвътре стана добре, обаче ми се иска да я пооправя отвън, да изравня панелите. Залепени са само с по едно парченце двойно лепящо тиксо, така че се надявам да мога да ги оправя.
Ама рагъната е много готина, нали :D

Btw, MOAR scrapbooking and cardmaking stuff to come, so brace yourself. I can't show you my secret stuff, and I'm progressing slowly on the other stitchings, so yuo'll have to cope with that ^^

И само между другото, още картичкови и скрапукингови неща се задават, така че пригответе се!
