Theme-a-licious wrap up - Tree of Stitches finished!

Let's jump right on it - my Tree of Stitches is finished!!

I finished the last 7 parts in the past 3 days and I have to thanks the Jardin January for the sudden return of stitching mojo. I somehow didn't feel like working on it after completing theFlower stitch part, the one I liked the less. But I thought this is the perfect project for the Theme-a-licious, and the only thing flower I have, and after giving it a start it almost stitched itself, lol! I really wanted to finish it just in time for the wrap up, and I'm so happy I managed it.
I learned a bunch of new stufff with this project and I'm in love with the effects and the colours different stitches produce. For now I need somerest from specialty stitches, but I hope to continue working on The Great Escape soon

And for this to be a real Jardin January wrap-up, I think I should add the little flower baggy

And after wrapping it all for January, let's jump to February. The theme proposed for it is:

Fangirl February

Send a Valentine to your favorite designer...or at least work on his or her designs for the month!

Now this is a surpisingly hard one. Because, you see, I can't see which is my favorite designer. There are many, whose work I love and admire, but I can't really pick a favorite. When I first saw the title for the February theme, my little fangirl soul rejoyced the way it does when it finds spoilers for a new episode/chapter/book and I planned digging all the patterns of fav characters I had.
For now I will give it a little bit more of a thought. I can probably start some cute Lizzie Kate or Barbara Ana designs, I did only one or two of these, and they're all so cute

И така, дървото най-накрая е завършено! След като го бях изоставила за доста време, вдъхновението ми отново се завърна и последните 7 части завърших за 3 дни. За своевременното прибиране на вдъхновението у дома трябва да благодаря на цялата идея за Theme-a-licious от блога It's Geek to me, която определя дадена тема за всеки месец. За Януари тя беше цветя и градини. Тъй като нямам никакви други проекти, които дори и да са минали покрай тези теми, се вдъхнових да подновя работата върху Дървото, и не само, ами че и да се постарая да го завърша до края на месеца, когато се отчитат резултатите. И успях, с което постижение много се гордея, както и с пословичната си скромност. Обожавам всичките цветове и ефекти, които са се получили при различните видове бодове. От този проект наистина научих много неща. Засега имам нужда от малка почивка от този вид проекти (през която да се наслаждавам на Дръвчето) но след това се надявам да подхвана вторият SAL на The Stich Specialists - The Great Escape

Към равносметката по темата включвам и малката торбичка - за момент даже се очертаваше тя да остане единственото цветисто нещо за месеца

След обощението за Януари идва темата за Февруари - а тя е Фенски Феврури, което е разтълкувано като отдаване на почит на любимите дизайнери. Това обаче ме затруднява, защото макар да харесвам работите на много дизайнери и фирми, трудно ми е да избера фаворити. Първо като видях заглавието, фенгърлската ми душица се възрадва като при вида на спойлери за нов епизод/глава/книга и се подготви да изкара всички схеми на любими герои.
Засега ще отдам още малко мислене по темата, и ще видим, може пък да поработа върху нещо от Лизи Кейт или Барбара Ана, и двете имат много сладурски неща.

But yeah, it's been some time since I clicked the post button in blogger. as usual, the excuse is that real life is getting in the way. So what has happened mean while that is worth blogging? Not much, but lets give it a try

The SS bday exchange
My card has arrived and has been post already in the group, so I can show it to you too. I have to say I'm pretty proud of it, as this is my first official project with French knots in it. So call the war against the French knots WON! Okay, I conquered the Colonials only, but I'm not greedy. In short, this was a very fun card to stitch. I tried to make a matching box for the thread and the needles too. This photo here is made by the lady who recieved it, Sue. As you know, I'm not much of a photographer and on top of it, I can't find where I saved the picture I made before sending the package who let me post it. I'm really good at losing files on my own computer and clothes in my own room, this is just one of my many talents.

IHSW finally and some giveaways you may want to check

i really shoud give up on planning what and where I'm going to post next, because I can't remember at all when I last got it right.
So anyway, here are some IHSW results! First we have TOS. I finished the last part I was working on. I sent a mail asking for a new pass for the tree, thinking I'm totally out of downloaded parts, but later I found a few more I downloaded. I will still need the new pass, but at least for now I still have what to work :)
Second comes my first update on Steam Punk! Too bad I coudn get a better light for the photo. Anyway, this last week I've been mainly frogging rather than stitching. Massive frog attack on the Fairym and on the Tree too.
And last but not least comes the Great Escape. The first part consist of Montenegrin Stitch. I think I did it all right. Colours again are not at their best. Fabric is light pink, and the thread is dark pink-purple colour

Май ще е най-добре да спра да опитвам да предвидя какво и кога ще поствам, защото досега и веднъж не съм улучила. Сигурно имам дарба за метеоролог, сбъркала съм попрището.
Както и да е, най-накрая, ето резултати от IHSW!
Най-напред е Дървото, с две нови части добавени. Имам още няколко клончета запас, но после ще трябва да помоля за паролата за следващите
Следва Стийм Пънк феята с нейния първи уип! Жалко, че не можах да докарам по-добра светлина. Всъщност по-голямата част от миналата седмица беше посветена на изкарване на бодове, отколкото на поставянето на нови. Почти двеста бройки си отидоха в небитието, и все пак засега феята е с около 800 бода. Но не е като да си личи.
И накрая, но не и по важност, идва новият САЛ наStitch Specialists - Совата! На всеки две седмици ще излиза нова част, докато се оформи пълната картинка. С тази първа част се започват гърдите на пилето. Цветовете отново не са в пълния си блясък, платът е светло розов, конецът тъмно розов с лилав намек, който ми иде да кръстя "сладко от сливи", макар че съм наясно, че ако ида в кухнята да сверя, няма да имат общо. Може би сладко от сливи забъркано с конфитюр от ягоди, с малко сметана да омекоти и цвета, и може и да го докараме. Но аз си ги предпочитам отделно, за сметка на това придружени от палачинка.

Tree of Stitches parts 4 and 5

What happened to part 3, some of you may ask? Well, part 3 is french knots... and mind you, I didn't run away from them. It's just a strategic reteat. I followed Abi's advice to leave them for later and go on with the next patrs.
I want to thank you all who gave me an opinion about the colour way of my rice stitches! It seems that most people liked the last option best so I used it in my stitch. During those two parts, I had many chances to find out for myself how forgiving linen is. I had to frod the eyelets once (misplaced the start) and two times the rice stitch (first time to remove my first start with the colourway I didn't like, and the second time because I misplaced again). And this really is the most kind hearted and forgiving fabric in the world!
Now I've finished the 6th part, but I'll wait to get one more done before bothering you with update again.
And something I forgot to make yesterday - shame on me! - to say hello to Donna!

Ето ги и части 4 и 5 от моето дърво. А къде е трета част, може да се запита някой. Ами, третата част се състои от френски възли. Сега, да не помислите, че бягам от тях. Не, това е само стратегическо отстъпление. Даже и отстъпление не е, а всъщност напредвам назад.
Последвах съвета на Аби да пропусна засега тази част и да се върна към нея по-късно.
Благодаря на всички, които споделиха кой от вариантите им харесва най-много. Най-много гласове събра последния, него и използвах за клончето си. Докато работех върху тези части, имах възможност от първа ръка да се убедя колко лесно опрощава греховете ленът. Четвъртата част я преправях веднъж (защото поставих грешно първите бодове) , а петата - два път (първия път махах бодовете с цветовете, които не ми бяха харесали, а втория път пак бях поставила грешно начало и то ми разваляше броенето).
Тази вечер завърших и шестата част, но ще изчакам да направя още една преди следващия ъпдейт.
И нещо, което изпуснах да направя вчера - срам ме е, признавам си - да кажа здрасти на Donna

1. Kenneth Branagh in Shakespeare plays
The movies are gorgeous, just so beautifully made. I recently told you about Much ado about nothing and Love's Labour's lost (did I) and I was lucky enough to spot Othelo in the TV program, so no need to search for it. I have to say I wasn't a big Shakespeare fan before, and I only read the comedies and those that were in the school program, but now I definitelly am going to read some of the rest. I still prefer the comedies though, and just as before, Much ado is my all time favourite of his. I'm in love with the song, all the versions of it

Наскоро бях споменала Много шум за нищо и Напразните усилия на любовта (нали?) а ето че и открих Отело в програмата на телевизията. Признавам си, че преди не бях голям фен на Шекспир и по своя воля съм чела само някои комедии, освен нещата задължителни за училище. Сега обаче смятам да прегледам и някои от останалите. Все пак обаче комедиите си ги харесвам повече, а Многото шум си ми остава любим от тях.

2Neil Gaiman
It seems I'll have to add him to my list of beloved authors. And not only his books are awesome, the movies made after them are too. You know Caroline, and probably Stardust, and I found this week that there were a mini series for Neverwhere! I just finishes watching it, and I loved it. It follows the book exactly which makes me very happy, as the book is too good to change anything in it. And Richard is adorable. I love the way he speaks. And I must add, that Gaiman creates one of the scariesr villains. Mr Croup and Mr Vandemar.... T______T way too scary! The series is from 1996 and my sister was amazed how old it is. Well, while I was watching TNG, she was amazed that it had colours, and teriffied from the lack of special effects
So if you happen to feel like watching a mini 6 episode series, I strongly recommend Neverwhere

Май че ще трябва да го включо в списъка с любими автори. И не само книгите му са страхотни, а и филмите по тях също. Няма начин да не сте чували за Коралайн, сигурно и за Звезден прах, а наскоро открих, че има мини сериал по Neverwhere (Никъде, никога, никой - не задължително в този порядък е българското заглавие, но книгата е много далече, за да проверя) Току що го свърших и беше страхотен. Следва неотлъчно книгата, което е чудесно, защото тя е твърде хубава, за да се променя каквото и да било. А и главният герой е сладурче, и говори с очарователен акцент, толкова очарователен всъщност, че на някои места не мога да се размина без субтитри. Но наистина много сладко говори. А да добавя, че Геймън създава и едни от най-плашещите злодеи. Господата Круп и Вандемар водят класацията. Сериалът е от 1996 и сестра ми беше удивена колко е стар. E, тя беше удивена и че Стар Трек е цветен, а също така потресена от нивото на специалните ефекти. Иначе Neverwhere го препоръчвам горещо

This is kind of insect repellent, anti-mosquito if we have to be exact. You remember Lilo and Stitch? When they stated that the only reason Earth existes id to breed mosquitos? Well those aliens must be having a damn good care of those little buggers, because form year to year they're getting bigger and nastier. And, apparently, I'm one of their favourite meals. I don't know what's wrong with my blood or DNA, cause they don't seem to like anyone else in the house. Now, nit that Autan makes them desert the houe at once screaming for mercy, but at least I'mn ot waking at nights because a horde of mosquitos is feasting on me.

Онзи репелент против комари. Не че му правя специално реклама или нещо. Помните ли онази част от Лило и Стич, когато накрая Земята се отърва от разрушаване, защото е природен резерват за комари? Е, изглежда през последните години извънземните са почнали много хубаво да се грижат за тях, защото от година на година стават все по-големи и по-гадни. И изглежда аз съм им любимото ястие. Сигурна съм, че даже си канят гости от чужбина да споделят специалитета. Не знам какво не ми е наред с кръвта или ДНК-то, защото не обръщат внимание на никоой друг в къщата. Сега, не е като аутанът да ги кара да напускат апартамента с писъци (то това и Райт не го може) но поне не се будя нощем, защото орда комари замезват на мой гръб, повече или по малко буквално.

5SALs, exchanges and all kinds of blogging and stitching community stuff

I joined the card exchange on The Stitch Specialists for the first birthday of the group, and I'm so excited about it! Up till knw, I've only done privite exchanges, but never something like this, so I can't wait! I hope everything will be good, in any case, if my pen pal lives overseas, I'll senf my package at least a month early, to nake sure it will arrive on time! Lol the joys of international shipping! XD
I also want to join the Wipocalypse SAL. I was interested in joining something like this even last year, but I thought it was pretty impossible for me to start 15 new projects for the Crazt challenge, nor I have so many wips for that ither similar challlenge. I like the rules of this one, because it gives lots of freedom. Hih, but now I have an evil plan - I'll make a bunch of starts till the end of the year, to include them! MWAHAHAHA!

5САЛ-ове, обмени и други подобни неща

Включих се в обмяната на бродирани картички по случай първия рожден ден на The Stitch Specialists, и много се вълнувам за това. За пръ път ще участвам в такава размяна, досега съм правила няколко само, и то лични. Във всеки случай, ако ще пращам до Щатите, ще пусна пакета месец предварително, за да съм сигурна, че ще пристигне навреме. Вече знам всички радости на пощенското обслужване.
Също така се включвам и в Уипокалипс САЛ (wip - work in progress - проект, върху който се работи в момента, и SAL - stitch-a-long - да шием заедно) От миналата година ми се искаше да се включа в нещо подобно, но Лудото януарско предизвикателство ми се стори тогава твърде непостижимо. Правилата на Уипокалипсиса са по-либерални. Сега съм намислила зъл план - да почна сума ти неща преди края на годината, които после да включа в списъка на уипокалипсиса. МУХАХАХАХА!

Tree of Stitches - parts 1 and 2

I'm finally showing you my tree after talking quite a lot about it these days! I won't bore you with unnessesairy babling for this one, so here's just the beasic info and the photos:

By the way neither the camera, nor the scanner shows the real colour of the thread for the trunk. It actually has a tint of pink in the brown
I think the first Special Stitch turned rather good. The next part is French knots. They're scary...

Ето най-накрая снимки на дръвчето. Ще карам по бързата процедура - схема на Abi Gurden - The Stitch Specialists , лен 30 каунт, а конците са Ариадна. Трябва да изтъкна, че нито фотоапаратът, нито скенерът не отдават дължимото на цвета на ствола на дървото, който има доста приятен намек за розово в кафявото. И така, с първите две части приключихме сполучливо. Следващата обаче е за френските възли, а те са страшни..

Back with two more squares....

Cause I'm sloooooow (but I've been busy, honest!) and even thought I didn't have access to Internet those last weeks (hence I didn't spend time browsing the net), most of this time sadly went for studying and not for cross stitching. At least I finished the non-organic chemistry lessons (which is good, I managed it in time) and started the organic (and I'm already missing the non-organic >.<)

anyways this is it:

One more and I'm done with the six squares I need for the cube. then I'll probably start another bday project... but this is in such distant future! XD

Those are so obviously biscuits and some kind of jelly beans or something. Where's the

chocolate? I'm freaking serious when it's about chocolate. Serious like Sunako in episode 19.

Btw there seems to be a Yamato Nadeshiko drama! Must watch!

And I'd like to thank a new follower, Kim - I wanted to do it more personally and visit her place , but lately the follower widget doesn't work for me, I can't put it on the blog. I can see it on the home panel, but nothing's happening when I click the icon ;( However - thanks! I'm so glad that you found my blog worth following!

Second - thanks to Kttycat, now I'm helplessly addicted to the SODA designs. I just have to try one! But I don't have the time for bigger project... so.. when I saw in Chcross (international chinese cross stitch forum) a thread saying: "Hey, I'm going to stitch this lil SODA design, someone wants to do it with me?" I was like "Hell YESS I DO". I don't know if I can call this SAL, but whatever. I'll be doing this for a present again - no time to stitch for myself! 

This is it! I want to make the cube in the bottom. I'd like it to be small enough so it can be used like a key chain. In order to do that, I'll probably have to stitch on 22 (nooo). But the real problem is... Cubes has 6 sides... that means I'll have to leave some squares out!!! T____T

And one very last thing... it's not related to craft in any way, but got me quite mad today.. I don't know if someone visits MyAnimeList, and how often. But since the beginning of the year, the made a lot of changes. First I thought it's just the skin (now it's uglier). But today I wanted to update my manga list with the chapters from the manga issue I buy monthly, I realized they're gone.

According to the new MAL rules, from what I got, only manga serialized in English will be listed on the site. So if the manga is originally posted in French, Portuguese, or whatever other language, and is not officially translated in English (scanlation groups doesn't  count), now it's gone. (I assume that manga in Japanese that's not translated won't be deleted, because this will be ridiculous by far O.o) If the manga is published originally in English, it stays.

They say that English speakers are their prime target and all the additional manga is a burden. I don't get it and I really think it's unfair. Great number of the users there aren't native English speakers, they just use the site features while reading in other languages too. Like I do. Mods say they won't change things just because of small group of people is unhappy. But I just don't see how exactly this made the other users "happy".  In the end, from the forum threads I read, they closed the topic with "you can keep track of that manga on a side list. Now happy holidays, topic closed." Well yeah, I can make anime and manga lists in Excel, but that's hardly the point.

MAL has always helped me to find new manga. The manga I lost now is BB Project, Omega Complex, Vairocana, All in, Pen Dragon, Kairi, Shin. Maybe there are more, but I haven't spotted them yet. Some of these series are really cool, especially the first ones, but they are serialized in the French Shogun magazine, that is translated in different languages, including Bulgarian (actually it's the only manga magazine here) but not English, so BYE BYE DEARS. With this, the club of the magazine lost all of his entries. Thanks to the club, many English speakers found out and got interested in these manga series, the interest raised and a scan translation of BB Project has even started -> One Manga But as said before, this doesn't count.

Sorry for the long babling but when I found out, first I was really pissed, now I'm just sad. I'm not getting the logic. Yeah, maybe you haven't heard of these titles, but there are OEL that are even less popular... Now I guess the only thing left to do for me is to try to recover my pass word for mangaupdates... or just start Excel. How fun.
