The Hogwarts biscornu in all it's finished beauty!

Thank you for all of your awesome comments regarding the biscornu and Alice/the Hare! I had lots of lols reading them!
Now I'm just popping to show you the finished Hogwarts biscornu. And that's all for now cause I'm really really sleepy. good night everyone :)

So Fan February came to and end. As you know I decided to take a slightly different approach to the Fan theme, as I simply coudn't pick a favourite designer. I decided to stitch things that are more or less tributes to things I'm fan of, in this case - Harry Potter and Terry Pratchet.
My projects were The Hogfather - I actually started it this month mostly so it could go for the challenge. Sadly I didn't get anything dome since I last showed it to you, it's still as I left it- > here

The other thing was.. that's right the Hogwarts biscornu! Good news here - I have it almost done :))) All the stitching is done, what's left is just to assemble the biscornu. Here it is, still hot :D
I really like how many details are in with so little stitches. There were quite many shades from every colour but it was all worth it and I can't wait to finish it properly. Yeah, I know, the border is off, but I can fix that so no worries!
Now let's see what the Themealicious has for us for the next month:

March Madness
Stitch or knit on something different every day...it's madness...of the funnest possible kind.

You say?...

Actually Heather from Geek to me says that it's enough to do something to shake the stitching routine a little. I gues for me it would mean to sit one project until I finish it, but uh-huh I don't see this happening. If I had the time I would work on something different every day with pleasure. But I don't so I'm going to try and put a dozen of stitches on every project of my Wipocalypse list (minus the Doctor and the Mirror, I don't need a new start and I don't have fabric and some of the threads for him). But literally a dozen, no more.

Apart from this, my stitching plans are
1. To finish Hogwarts
2. To make a couple of bookmarks for bdays
3. Work on the fairy and not jump on another project until I finish her dress and wings.

The last goal has no time limit, even if I do hope to finish beading the wings and dress before the end of March. I really need to learn to concentrate more >.>

And a P.S. The March Hare and pretty much everyone and everything in the animated Disney movie is seriously freaking me out. And the flowers. Especially the flowers. Everything is way to distubingly creepy and freaky to me. The last Alice movie was the right kind of creepy freaky, the way it's supposed to be, so I loved it. Not only becaus of Depp :D And I like the book too, but I don't think it's a children book.
And there's no way you can convince me that thing the Hare was putting in his tea was sugar

Краят на февруари дойде, значи е време за отчет по предизвикателството Темалишъс. Темата за изминалия месец бе "Фенски Феврури", което аз реших да посветя на две любими четива - Хари Потър и Пратчет.
По Дядо Прас на Тери Пратчет няма напредък от последния път, когато го показах - той още си е където го оставих - ей тука
Затова пък при Хогуортс бискорнято нещата изглеждат още по-добре. Там имах и допълнителен стимул - играта Сръчнотийки от форума, където темата за месеца пък беше бискорню или възглавничка, и така успях да си напасна нещата. Остава ми само да го сглобя, срокът е до пети и се надявам да го хвана :)

При Темалишъс новата тема е "Мартенска лудост - работи върху различен проект всеки ден" като организаторката допълва, че всъщност е достатъчно просто да направиш нещо, с което да излезеш от рутината. Хмм предполагам, че за мен това би означавало да седна и да работя само върху едо нещо докато не го свърща, ноо изобщо не виждам това да се случи :D По принцип с удоволствие бих работила върху различен проект всеки ден, само ако времето позволяваше. То обаче не е благосклонно към такива начинания. Затова намеренията ми са да се опитам и да поработя мъничко върху всеки от проектите от Уипокалипс списъка, без Доктора и Оледалцето, защото не ми трябва да започвам още нещо, пък и ми липсват материали. Ама наистина ще е мъничко. Съвсем съвсем мънинко.

Иначебъдещите ми планове са общо взето
1. да довърша Хогуортс
2. да направя два книгоразделителя за рожденни дни
3. да работя върху феята докато не и свърша роклята и крилата - това няма времеви лимит, просто определено имам нужда да се науча да си задържам вниманието на едно нещо, че на ниво концентрация съм като златна рибка. Т.е. три секунди или една обиколка на аквариума. Затова пък те винаги са изненадани, надявам се приятно, от това чудно ново водорасло, с което са украсили.

Честита Баба Марта!

Всички да са живи, здрави, бели и червени !!!
Нищо, че е втори, аз така или иначе празнувам цял месец :D При нас баба Марта от първия ден реши да покаже характер, на първи във Варна беше голям ветрилник, даващ предпоставки за летящи кучета и не само; днес пък в Бургас мина през цялата мартенска гама то слънце до дъждец.
И затова, тъй като не държа на студено, а най-вече, не мога на студено да държа фотоапарата, имам снимчици само на мартеничките, които раздавах, които посъбрах и малко от украсата в мола.
По-малко са мартеничките от миналата година, пък и снимките им не са от най-добрите, но в седем сутринта - толкова :D Шкафът от Красавицата и звяра го взех заради майтапа, просто не можах да устоя XD



Hello everyone! This time you saw all the piccus before getting to read this. Maybe some of the people who followed me previous years will recall the March madness :)) In Bulgaria we celebrate first of March by giving each other martenitsi made of read and white thread, a symbol of health, happiness and the upcoming spring.
March is the only month considered here "female" because they say that the weather in March changes as woman changes her mood :))) Well "Granny Marta" showed some character form the first day, going from wind, snow, sun and rain! But we still love her! Anyway with such weather I only snapped a very quick photo of some of the decoration in the mall, and the martenichki photos are from 7 am before going to anatomy. This year they are less in number and fancy-ness than last time, because I bought these at the last moment, but still I love them all. It was hard to part with some :D But the once I recieved are just as pretty if not prettier !

Later today I'll put my Theme-a-licious post too.

Hogwarts and fairy

Just a quick post to show you as promised what i did on these two. Love working on the fairy and can't wait to finish Hogwarts and put some more beads. The weekend I did all the black outline on the biscornu, and today I did most of the Slytherin.

Пост набързо да покажа как вървят феята и бискорнюто. Голяма зарибявка са мънистата, направо нямам търпение да свърша Хогуортс и да се върна към тях. Бискорнюто обаче също става добре, уикенда свърших черното, а днес направих герба на Слидерин.

So late with IHSW and TUSAL

What to start with.. let it be the IHSW.

I did quite some stitching the last weekend , but can't show you all of it. One part is secret, other is well, not on experimental stage anymore, but still needs some more work before I show you a wip of it.
Still, what I can show you is my biscornu wip and my Hogfather start!
Hogwarts biscornu from KiwiStitch! I remember when I had to rediscover the paattern after seeing it in the internet I googled "kiwi stitching Hogwarts Star Trek Pokemon" which lead me to the right result. Pretty awesome place as you see. Not much on this though, because I found a miscounting that let to lots of frogging. Nah. I still hope I can finish it till the end of the month..

Миналият уикенд беше IHSW, отчета за който трябваше да е в понеделник, и очевидно съм закъсняла. А и не мога да покажа всички неща, върху които работех този уикенд - някои трябва първо да си стигнат другарчето, а други, въпреки че вече не са в експериментален етап, още им трябва малко работа, преди да видят бял свят, макар и като уип-ове.
Това което мога да покажа обаче е Хогуортс бискорнюто. И то не е напреднало много горкото, защото имаше грешка и трябваше да се разшива. Все още тая надежди обаче да го свърша навреме за квалифициране за Февруарските Сръчнотийки.



And to make it nicely for the Fan February, I made my start on the Hogfather, and I love it
I started with the middle page so I'm woking on his sleeve now, but I'm out of some reds.

Those project haven't moved on since Sunday. The beginning of the week was so busy busy, and yesterday I had time, but I received my order including the beading kits! I made my mind about which two projects will fill the places in my wipocalypse list after I finished the Why is it and the Tree of Stitches - reading your comments when I asked about your opinion it seems (or at least this is what I wanted to see, lol!) that The Doctor was a choice for sure, and a beading project out of curiosity. I'm choosing the Fairy, since she has less colours. I started it yesterday, that's why I couldn't post ^^. The work on her is very easy and pleasent, I plan to work a little more on her today and show you a wip this weekend. And then - on the biscornu!

Другият проект е Дядо Прас. Тъй като Февруари е Фенски, по тази линия освен с Хари Потър съм и с Пратчет. Почнах го от средата, така че в момента работя ръкава.

И бискорнюто обаче, и Дядо Прас не са напреднали след уикенда, защото началото на седмицата беше твърде заето, а вчера си взех мънистените нещица. В крайна сметка по въпроса кои ще заемат освободените то Why is it? и Дървото места в Уипокалипс списъка, се спрях на Доктора и Аметист феята. Нея даже я почнах вчера, вече им хващам цаката на мънистата и всичко се очертава много приятно и забавно :D Смятам днеска да поработя още малко върху нея, евентуално да ви я покажа уикенда. А после - бискорнюто!


And now for the TUSAL. This time you're getting to see my Uni city TUSAL jar, up till now only the Home TUSAL jar was getting affection. Not too much to see, as most of the stitching this month was during the vacation at home. You can notice the huge number of DMC papers as I was winding the bobbins for my Hogfather
It's not a glass jar, but rather a can from Snickers special edition so I'm taking theshot like this.

So I'll be leaving you now in order to get back to my fairy! Have a nice weekend!

И последно остана ТУСАЛ. Бурканчето с кончетата, което този път не е бурканче, а по-скоро тенекийка от някаква специална серия на сникърс. А и кончетата са малцинство, повече се набиват на очи хартийките от DMCто за Дядо Прас. Това всъщност е Варненския Тусал, който за пръв път показвам. Предните Тусал снимки все са били на Домашното Бургаско бурканче, но този път датата излзе така. Пък и крайно време беше и този да получи малко внимание.

Challenge spree part 2 - reading challenges

As promised! As you may know, I had 2 readings challenges for now - the Mount TBR challenge and the Sir Terry Pratchett challenge. I decided to join some more. But this is not as bad as it sounds, because it's allowed for titles to cross over challenges, and I'm aiming for the lowest levels.

I'm doing it the lazy way:

Make a list on your blog from A-Z. Throughout the year, as you go along, add the books you are reading to the list. Hope that by the end of the year you have read one book for each letter. Towards the end of the year, you can check and see which letters you are missing and find books to fit.

I plan to put to alphabet lists, in English and Bulgarian. I wonder where I'll gather more checked letters, as it all depend on how the title is translated. And our alphabet has more letters than the English one, although I'm not sure I'll be able to find books for some of them

Следва Азбучното предизвикателство. Нго ще го правя по мързеливия вариант - пускам лист с азбуката и докато чета добавям заглавията към съответната буква с надждата накрая да излязат. Смятам да пусна азбуки на български и английски, и да видим коя ще има накрая повече попълнени места :D

I'm on a challenge spree

I know it's bad, and not very wise, given the fact that my second semester starts on Monday which means less time for stitching, reading, blogging, and sleeping. Oh dear sleep, I will miss you. No offend to the others. But I can't help it. Before I tell you all about my sins, I want to do something I should have done last week - and show you the prize I won from Jo's giveaway on Serendipitous Stitching!
I won the cutest prize! Thank you so so much!! Inside the callender it says that you can't hug a stitched piece. Yeah sure! I've been hugging the callendar, so try and stop me for hugging one of these cuties once stitched! Mom has her eyes on the Valentine design, while I've mibe on the Red Hats. So we'll have to figure this out. Jo also added a magnet and an awesome card with little verses, my fav is
The man in the moon came down too soon

Through eating cold pea porridge.

The presence of these on a card makes me think that it should be pretty popular but I'm excited because of the resemblance with Tolkien's Man in the moon came too soon, and of course the Man in the moon stayed up too late, that Frodo told in the Prancing Pony. I guess it doesn't speak good for me to know more of the litterature of imaginary world than of a real country, but after you survuved my previous fan based attacks, I think you can manage almost anything. Now I should let go of this card or else in my sleepy mood I may begin to trace the route from the Shire to Bree.
Thanks again for the great prize Jo! It even arrived the day after my bday which make it extra special.
I'm planning to do a giveaway myself some time soon, but I'm not sure when. I still have some other things to do first. It won't be related to a certain number of followers or blogoversaries, it will just be... eventually.

Хич не ме бива да устоявам на изкушения, и точно преди началото на втория семестър, което значи остро намаляване на дажбите от четене, блогване, шиене и спане (о, сънчо, ще ми липсваш!) се записах на купчина предизвикателства. Преди обаче да си призная всичките грехове, исках да покажа страхотната наградка, която получих от Джо от Serendipitous Stitching! Падна ми се най-хубавата - календарче с мечета със схеми за шиене, и към подаръка тя беше прибавила магнитче и картичка от мястото, където живее. По картичката има стихове, които болното ми мозъче веднага асоциира със стиховете на Толкин за човека от луната, специално това, което Фродо рецитира в Скокливото Пони. Имам подозрения, че присъствието на другите стихове върху картичката говори за тяхната широка популярност, и фактът, че познавам по-добре литературата на измислена страна, отколкото тази на реално съществуваща, може и да не говори много добре за мен. Но след като изтърпяхте предишните фен базирани постове, мисля, че можете всичко.

А сега ще следват и прегрешенията ми :D

• A week or so ago I gave up my fear of forums (I'm just nt a big fan. I don't know why. I just think blog communication is so much more fun) and so I renewed my account in the forum Goblenite.org . Long story short, I joined a game that I could best translate as Little things, and for February we shold make a biscornu, and another little thing every month

• Преди около седмица преодолях страха си от форуми (просто да речем, че не са ми любимото средство за интернет комуникация. Не оцелявам дълго в тях, и намирам, че блоговете са много по-приятни и интересни) Накратко - записах се в играта Сръчнотийки и за месец февруари трябва да направя бискорню - и така всеки месец по някоя дреболийка. А как обичам дреболийки :))))

Now is a sin I plan for my Wipoacypse list! I shared a bit of it with you last time. For every finish of the list I'll add a new one. I won't be startin them right way, but I'll be permitted to, yay! But it's hard enough to choose which ones! And with the craft online order I placed to celebrate my own bday, things ain't getting easier! I don't usually talk about stash I got, because seeing it all written and posted makes me feel guilty for the shopping sprees. But I'll ask for your votes on these, and say whether I can (and should) add beads only designs to the list. So here are my possible victims:
->The Tenth Doctor - not the cool colourful one that the Stitching Reaper is working on, but a smaller sepia coloured Doctor. Which is still very cool because it's the Doctor.
-> Moon Angel - a kit I bought recently. I couldn't find a pic online, so I had to take one

PI bought it because it reminded me of the L&L angels. But when I came home and opened it, I realized that they expected me to stitch the whole blue background. And to work in tent stitch. I have no idea why this surprised me - I know very well that almost all kits sold here are for tent stitch and with marked 22 count fabric - so it's marked and you have no choice but to stitch the background. I think this is no fun that's why I plan to get myself a blue aida and work it in full crosses. I also may add aome beads and metallics. I'll have to buy new fabric, and probably extra threads, but I still think it's better option than stitching all the blue.

Now are the ones I ordered, they'll arrive till the end of the month
-> Ametyst/Pearl - beads only. I love the haed series of these, but they're way to big for me. The semi-beaded look like better choice.
-> Moon Castle - beads only. I'm so in love with half of the beads projects from this site. If these one work, there is going to be a major attack
->Washing day - cross stitch on a stamped aida, so it should be a rather quick project.
-> A Joan Elliott lady/ fairy from the Cross Stitch Collection magazine. I have a few ones I have my ye on and if this option gets enough love from you I'll show them all and make you vot again ]:)

А сега ето малко планове за Уипокалипса. Както споменах предния път, реших, ч за всяка изпълнена точка от оригиналния списък мога да добавя нов проект. Не е като да го почвам веднага, но ще бъде в списъка на разрешените - става дума за сравнително големи проекти, малките при мен си имат вечно разрешение. Но и така не е лесно да се реши кои от всичките, които съм си харесала да преминат в списъка. Освен това се чудех дали да включа в списъка гоблени само с мъниста. Във всеки случай има две свободни места, и ако желаете, може да гласувате кои да ги заемат
-Доктор Кой - малко сепийно портретче на Десетият Доктор, т.е. Дейвид Тенант
-Лунен ангел - на снимката горе - обаче с известни промени. в комплекта прдполагат, че целият син фон трябва да е ушит, което според мен е загуба на време. Аз мисля, че щ е по-добре да си намеря някаква синя аида, може и по-тъмничка, като за нощно лунно небе, и да си спестя фона. Освен това го искам на кръстчета ангела. А може и да добавя малко блещук и мъниста
-Аметист/Перла - за този дизайн на едно място го наричат така, на друго иначе.. Това е само мъниста върху щампа Поръчах си ги заедно с още някои проекти. Много харесвам тази серия на Хаед, но техните схеми са просто огромни - тзи мънистени варианти изглжгдат много по приемливи.
-Лунен замък - отново само мъниста
-Една фея на Джоан Елиът от списанията Cross Stitch Collection. Имам няколко предвид. Ако тази опция спечели достатъчно, ще ви ги покажа всичките, и щ трябва да избират пак ]:)

And my next stitching sin is going to b towards the Theme-a-licious. I really thought hard, but I can't pick a fav designer for this month, unless I say Haed with the SP Fairy. So this is what I decided. It's Fangirl February, so I'm gonna stitch what I'm a fangirl of - in this case I'll stop on Pratchett and start th Hogfather and on Harry Potter with a Hogwarts biscornu that I plan to fit in the small things challnge. So how does this plan sound to you?

I'll be more than happy to hear your thoughts! This post turned quite long, so I'm going to continue with the new reading challenges in the next one, most likely tomorrow. Till now, have fun and stay warm, because it's freezing where I am.

И последното прегрешение, което смятам да извърша –засега- е спрямо предизвикателстовото Темалишъс, което определя тема за всеки месец. Февруари озаглавен като Фенски, което е разтълкувано като да работиш по любимия си дизайнер. Аз обаче не мога и не мога да си харесам, и накрая реших да приема друго тълкувание - да шия неща, на които съм фен. В моя случай това ще е Дядо Прас и Хогуортско бискорню, с което да вляза и в предизвикателството Сръчнотийки.

Ще се радвам да чуя какво мислите за това, или за гореизброените проекти :) Този пост излезе доста дълъг, така че с предизвикателствата за четене ще продължа в следващия. Дотогава ви пожелавам весело и топло изкарване! Брр!
