January Wipocalypse check-in

So, it's time for the first Wipocalypse post for the year! Getting excited!
As I posted these previous days some progress on projects that are in the wipocalypse list, I'll use that clause where it's stated we can use links. I'm pretty sure I saw it somewhere, even though now I can't find it.
Now this is my Wipocalypse list, I added one more and it's Death as the Hogfather! I've been dying to stitch it for some time now, but wasn't sure if I want to add another big project to the list. But when I checked it this weekend, it turned it's not as big as I thought it was, so here we go! I've also decided I'll add to my wipocalypse list projects that are meant to stay at home/or for family, and not ones I make for presents and such, because they're usually smaller, I decide on them at the last moment, when it's just not appropriate to add them, and because I decided to be selfish this year and try stitching more for myself *mwahahaha* Last year I gave away most of my finished works, some of them I didn't even have the take to take a picture of.
Anyway, here's what we got:

• Spring in Japan (Mylena Style)
  
• Steam Punk fairy (Haed) - I'm seriously thinking of restarting this project, because I'm not very happy with the fabric

• One sheep open sleigh (Waxing moon)
• Storykeeper Storykeep (haed) - here - working on the bottom page with a little black added from the middle page. About 3000 stitches done

• Why is it? (The Cricket Collection) - here is something I haven't shown you yet!

• Random Selection of characters - that includes sprites, tinies, chibies and such. I know that the definition is a little too wide, but I have some things in mind. This time I stitched these tinies from Dork Stitch

So, let us start with the tiny ones! After seeing Yugi last time, you should have known what's coming next. That's right, the owner of the Blue-eyes white dragon, my fav character from the series - Seto Kaiba. It's one again from the Dork Stitch blog where Missy flawlessly captured the antigravity coat of Kaiba, which he has because the mangaka didn't gift him with antigtavity hair. I know I promised you more Yu-gi-oh themed babbling, but since I'm sleepy now and have more things to show, I plan to skip it, but hardly someone is going to miss it. I just have to add that with this sprite stitched I'm totally out of place on my board and will have to think of other way to display the tinies I stitch in the future.
И тъй, да започнем представянето с другите дребосъци. Най-напред някого, за чиято поява предварително съобщих, и която трябваше да се очаква след Юги - притежателят на Синеокия бял дракон, любимият ми герой от поредицата - Сето Кайба. Отново от блога на Dork Stitch , където Миси безукорно е уловила вида на неподчиняващото се на гравитацията му палто, с което мангаката го е надарил, предполагам след като му е отказал антигравитационна коса като на останалите герои. Бях планувала още да разнищвам темата за Ю-ги-о, но тъй като ми се спи, а и имам и други неща за показване, смятам да пропусна, пък и се съмнявам някой да остане дълбоко разочарован от този факт. Ще добавя само, че сега съвсем ми свърши мястото на корковата дъска и няма къде да си забождам следващите геройчета.

Ah, isn't it adorable how I can't line two characters? I guess this might piss off Sebastian, but worse things happen, you know. Those two characters come form the same place Seto did, that to say Dork Stitch, but they originate from another anime - Kuroshitsuji, or Black Butler. Here we see Black Butler in the bottom, and Red Reaper above! Ok, this wasn't very smart, but sleepy is sleepy!
Двамата други героя, които идват сега, са от същия блог, но от друго аниме - Курошитсуджи. Отгоре имаме Жътвар на души в червено, общо взето шматка, отдолу иконом в черно, който иначе е демон, който е сключил договор за душата на главния герой, но е общо взето от добрите, и побеждава лошите със сребърните прибори за хранене, като всичко това е включено в изключително заплетен и неправдоподобен сюжет.

And now I will show you a bunch of weird looking stitches, and I'll ask you to think of them of some sort of ugly duckling, if this could be a stitching methaphore. About a week ago I started the SK Storykeeper, but I started from the bottom page, because I figure it would be easier this way, with the rather large blocks of black. While stitching was indeed pleasent and easy, espacially with a dubbed movie, I have to say, this bottom page isn't very motivational. Even after it is finished, it won't make you go " Wow, what a beauty!" or " Now the whole piece makes sence!". But keep thinking of the duckling and that there are two more pages to come! Ok, so here is the present and the future (I hope) of my SK: With that, all that's left is to wish you a nice weekend!

И накрая на този пост искам да ви покажа нещо, което засега общо взето не прилича на нищо. Ще ви помоля да мислите за него като за крафтърски еквивалент на грозното патенце, защото горе виждате в какво трябва да се превърне (да се надяваме). Почнах го преди около седмица от най-долната страница, защото там има много черно, и е общо взето по-лесно да се работи. Това си е така, но самата страница трудно може да се нарече мотивираща. От цялата картинка тя стига горе-долу до глезена на крака на момичето. Така че даже и цялата да е завършена, не предизвиква бурни изблици на възвишени чувства. Но, мислете за патенцето.
Сега, май единственото, което остана да ви пожелая, е приятен уикенд :)

2012 reading reports post

This post is just meant for me to keep track of the reading challenges and total number of reads through the year. Since I'm not sure how to make those cool buttons on the top of the blog, (and I think it might involve a change to other more suitable blog layout, something I don't want to do as I like my chocolate goodness layout) I'm doing this the easiest way it comes to my mind - just making a post that I'll edit through the year when I finish a book

Some tiny stitches and a tip how to feel like a stupid stitcher

But you will have to wait for my wise advice, because first I shall show you the tinies:
Here are Kyoya and the Hitachiin twins from Ouran High School Host Club and Yugi from Yu-gi-oh. I bet you've already recognized the style from Dork Stitch! This December Missy-tannenbaum posted tons of new sprites that I can't wait to stitch! It was hard, but I forced myself to finish the Ouran set first before starting the new ones (I'm not stitching Renge).
Those last days I've been spending most of my time working on Storykeep that I mentioned as a part of my wipocalypse list. I actually started it before the new year and have been working on it and rewatching the first season of Pokemon(because it's dubbed and because it's the best). But I wanted to watch some stuff with subtitles that I found dont work well with Haed so I switched to a sprite. and besides, it feels wrong to stitch Yugi and watch Pokemon. Just.. wrong.
Somewhere in the back of my mind, Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh are something like arch-enemies. Pocket monsters or duel cards? Back then I have no idea how much junk food I ate in order to gather quite good collection of Pokemon tazos and Yu-gi-oh cards. I have no idea where most of them are now, but I remember in high school I kept using a Vulpix tazo to draw sircles in geometry classes. In any case, I've always had stronger symathies towards the Yu-gi-oh. More action. Shadow games. And ultimate anti gravity hair. Noone can beat this. Every argument is invalid.
I may add some more Yu-go-oh rant when I make Seto too

And here is the tip I promised you. Follow these easy steps:

• Make yourself a cup of tea
• Watch a movie and stitch
• Put your orts in your cup of tea instead of your orts jar
• Notice it somewhere at the middle of the film
• Feel stupid. Welcome to the club

През последния месец на Dork Stitch се появиха десетки нови схеми, повечето от които нямам търпение да направя. Успях стоически да устоя на изкушението обаче и първо се заех да завърша героите от Оуран. С появата на Кьоя и близнаците тази задача вече е завършена.
Тези дни се занимавам главно с една от задачите, които си поставих за новата година и wipocalypsis-а - Storykeep. Започнах го всъщност преди новата година и докато работех на него се наслаждавах на първия сезон на Покемон, защото него мога да го гледам дублиран и това значително улеснява работата. Но днес исках да гледам нещо със субтитри, а като цяло четенето на субтитри и работата върху Хаед не е особено успешна комбинация. Затова избрах да се заема с Юги. А и някакси ми изглеждаше грешно да гледаш Покемон, а да правиш Юги.
Сигурна съм, че сте разпознали Юги, защото преди не толкова много време ликът му красеше доста неща, голяма част от тях с китайски произход, но какво да се прави. В съзнанието ми Покемон и Ю-ги-о са нещо като заклети врагове. Джобни чудовища или дуели на сенките. Симпатиите ми от време на време може да са се колебаели и едновременно да съм консумирала огромни количества снакс за Покемон тазоси и кроасани за Ю-ги-о картички (повечето от които не знам къде се намират понастоящем, но помня, че ив гимназията чертаех кръгове по геометрия с тазос на Вулпикс, докато повечето се мъчеха с левчета. Xa, noobs. Ако някой се чуди, пергелите никога не са били на мода№) . Но в крайна сметка предпочитанията ми към Ю-ги-о винаги са надделявали. Повече драма. Напрежение. И пълното отричане на физичните закони. Косата. Пред антигравитационните коси от това аниме всеки друг аргумент е невалиден.

А сега, освен всичко друго, ще споделя и един лесен и подходящ за всеки ден начин да се почувстваш тъп. Следвайте следните стъпки:

• Направете си чаша чай
• Пуснете си филм докато шиете
• Пускайте остатъците от конци в чашата
• Усетете се чак към средата на филма
• Чувствайте се тъпи. Добре дошли в клуба

Past and future reading activities: some lists, stats and goals

So, lets start with the future! Yesterday I mentioned I joined the TBR reading challenge from the blog My reader's block, where your goal is to read as many as possible from the books you bought and piled dureing the past years. There are several milestones, cleverly named after different mountains. I decide to go for the smallest onem which in this case is Pike's Peak and is the equivalent of 12 books from the pile. Even though I have enough stash to climb quite bigger heights, I don't trust myslef not to go, buy, and start new ones, and besides, I love rereading, that is also not included.
It is not necessairy to make and follow a list in order to join, but here are some titles that will def be included (and that are in hand's reach so I can check the original title)

I was wondering wich one to dig first, but as mom took the Son of Neptune, I'm left with the Dark Days. But she keeps coming to my room to tell me spoilers from the book. It's actually quite nice to have her hooked on the same series as me. After I bought the first book for Septimus Heap, she went and got the whole series. But as the last one is not out yet, now she's kinda depressed, because she's left with too many on going series, poor thing.

Now let's see what I managed to read this past year. Unfortunatelly for me I can mark only new reads to my goal on Shelfari (or at least I don't know how to mark rereads). This year I reread the whod HP saga, so I think I finished at least 45. I think this year I will have to manage a TBR list, a new reads list and a list of total lists. A list in a list in a list. Sounds awesome. And I should watch Inception too.

И така, нека да започнем книжния преглед от бъдещето, т.е. от плановете за новата година, които традиционно доста надценяват реалните възможности, но в това се таи част от чара им. В последния ден на старата година засякох едно читателско предизвикателство TBR reading challenge , където целта е да прочетеш колкото можеш повече от книгите, които си си купил и които събират прах и чакат звездния си миг. И за да е по-интересно, целите са представени под формата на планини, чиито върхове изкачваш. Аз си набелязах като цел най-ниската планина, Пайкс Пийк (Pike's Peak) , която никога не съм чувала, но тъй като географските ми познания не са особено обширни, това не е чак толкова изненадващо. По-важно в случая е, че тя отговаря на 12 книги от купчината. ВЪпреки че имам материал да покоря доста по-високи върхове, нямам достатъчно доверие в себе си, че няма да пренебрегна къщните запаси за сметка на нещо ново току-що донесено от книжарницата.

Затова път тя не пропуска да мине през стаята и да сподели някой и друг спойлер, като да речем как са предвидили бъдещето на Пърси по вътрешностите на плюшена панда. Всъщност да сме зарибени по едни и същи поредици си е много хубаво. След като взех първата книга на Анджи Сейдж за Септимъс Хийп, тя се запали и набързо попълни поредицата, осигурявайки ми доста материал за четене.

Дотук с бъдещетие планове. Да обърнем поглед към изминалата година. На Шелфари си бях поставила за цел да прочета 50 книги, но тъй като там мога да отбелязвам само новичките току-що прочетени книжки, а не и препрочитанията, бройката не е много точна. Там ми излезе 38 книжки, но тъй като препрочетох и цялата ХП сага по случай излизането на последния филм, а също и някои други неща, финалната бройка трябва да ми е най-млако 45. И така, за тази година ще трябва да си имам списък за TBR книгите, които са вече купени и ще бъдат прочетени за първи път, списък на Шелфари с всички прочетени за пръв път книги и общ списък включващ и евентуални препрочитания. Списък в списъка в списъка. Звучи като Inception, който филм също трябва евентуално да видя

И общо взето това е относно плановете за читателската дейност :)

First of all, happy new year to you all! I hope you had a great 2011 and I wish you an even better 2012 year! Let it be full of all kinds of fun and awesome stuff! :D
